REVITALISASI KAWASAN SEJARAH TERHADAP POTENSI INDUSTRI BATIK MENJADI KAWASAN WISATA KAMPUNG BATIK SEBERANG KOTA JAMBI
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Jambi City is located on the east coast of Sumatra Island which is the capital of Jambi Province
which is separated into 2 sides, namely North and South. As time goes by, there are more and
more visible differences in the two areas that are divided by the Batanghari River flow, both
physically and non-physically. On the north side, this area is considered underdeveloped and
still very traditional and even tends to be shabby. Even though it has so much potential that can
be developed, one of them is the central of batik jambi which is located in the Teluk Lake
District and currently has the most batik industry craftsmen, namely in Ulu Gedong Village.
The purpose of this study is to produce guidelines in the design of the Seberang Kota Jambi
area which is the central area for producing the batik industry, as well as identifying the
physical form of the Seberang Jambi city space, especially in the Teluk Lake District which is a
historical area with complex problems and potentials in supporting the development of
economic, social, cultural, tourism and environmental aspects. For this reason, in the process
this research refers to historical study methods in urban concepts that can provide a multiplier
effect in the development of the surrounding area.
